Meet Ken Hagihara: Founder & President of Integrity Public Relations

Ken Hagihara, APR, Fellow PRSA 

Ken Hagihara, APR, Fellow PRSA, is the founder and president of Integrity Public Relations, Inc.  


Hagihara has 26 years of experience providing high-impact, cost-effective, strategic public relations, social media, and marketing services to organizations in the technology, consumer electronics, non-profit, and hospitality industries. He has received numerous local, regional, and national awards for his strategic public relations campaigns, media relations programs, and tactical projects.


Hagihara is also a full-time lecturer in the Department of Communications at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), where he teaches upper-division classes including public relations management, social media for public relations and strategic communication, and advanced public relations writing. In addition to his eighth year as faculty adviser for the CSUF chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Hagihara recently served as the national faculty adviser for PRSSA. He also serves as an adviser for PRactical ADvantage Communications, the department’s student-run advertising and public relations agency.

 

Hagihara recently retired as a lieutenant commander from the United States Navy where he served as apublic affairs officer specializing in Navy outreach and executive engagements. Prior to commissioning in the Navy, Hagihara served in the United States Air Force and California National Guard as a satellite communications technician and production controller.

 

A 2019 inductee into the PRSA College of Fellows, Hagihara is an active member of the Orange County, California, chapter of PRSA. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Battleship IOWA Museum and the future National Museum of the Surface Navy in Los Angeles, California, the board of directors for the Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association, and is a member of the board of the Universal Accreditation Board.

 

Hagihara received his bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from California State University, Fullerton, and his master’s in communication management from University of Southern California.
